Conceived as a space for gathering, dialogue, and care, this work transformed the atrium of the Museo Laboratorio Arte Alameda into a garden open to visitors and visible from the street. The garden invites people to spend time with the roses: to read, think, pause, or meet with others. It later became a permanent installation at the museum.
The rose garden reflects on the fragility of the rose across different scales of time: from the life of the gardener to the age of mountains and stars. Curated by José Luis Barrios, the exhibition at Arte Alameda invites us to consider these overlapping temporalities.
The care of the garden was always an essential part of the work. My gratitude goes to Guadalupe Martínez Salazar for her dedication and knowledge in keeping it healthy and beautiful.
