En el tiempo de la rosas no envejece el jardinero
2019. Rose garden.

This work was conceived in an effort to enable a public space for gathering, dialogue, and care in the Museum’s Laboratorio Arte Alameda atrium. The garden is seen from outside the Museum and serves as an invitation to spend time with the roses, read, think or meet people. The garden became a permanent installation at the Museum.

The rose garden is also from which to consider the fragility of the rose in relation to other temporal scales and life cycles, like the lifespan of the gardener, to whom the rose will never see age. Consequently, the life of the gardener is too shor

The rose garden is also from which to consider the fragility of the rose in relation to other temporal scales and life cycles, like the lifespan of the gardener, to whom the rose will never see age. Consequently, the life of the gardener is too short to witness the mountains grow old or the stars die. The exhibition at the Arte Alameda curated by José Luis Barrios is an invitation to consider these various and sometimes overlapping temporalities.

Taking care of the garden was an essential aspect of the work. I want to thank Guadalupe Martinez Salazar for her dedication and expertise in maintaining the garden healthy and beautiful. I am glad to know that until 2022 the garden is still there w

Taking care of the garden was an essential aspect of the work. I want to thank Guadalupe Martinez Salazar for her dedication and expertise in maintaining the garden healthy and beautiful. I am glad to know that until 2022 the garden is still there welcoming humans and nonhumans, as there are new plants brought to the garden to encourage pollination, which has been an effort coordinated by the Museum in collaboration with other specialists.
