Flood
I dreamt the entire planet was flooding. Water surged forward, reclaiming space. I saw rivers overflowing and torrential rains. Water spilled through rooftops and hallways. The sea moved inland, submerging houses, schools, cities, farmland, and mountains—until everything was covered. The planet is flooding.
These paintings are also about the vibrancy and fluidity of water and its relationship to the environment. In doing them, I attend to the rhythms and pacing of moving water and flooding.
