Emilio Chapela

Using a magnet, I recovered objects from the bottom of the Seine, including a bicycle, old keys and fragments of metal. Presented in the exhibition Vacío, these finds formed a kind of urban archaeology, questioning the river’s role as a repository of the city’s material memory.
